Stephen Pina Issues Campaign Accountability Statement for Brockton’s Ward 1 School Committee Race

Brockton, MA – August 4, 2025 — In a race defined by restoring trust, discipline, and transparency in Brockton’s public school system, Ward 1 School Committee candidate Stephen Pina has issued a formal Campaign Accountability Statement, pledging full compliance with Massachusetts campaign finance laws and a commitment to financial integrity throughout his campaign.

“As a father, veteran, and lifelong Brockton resident, I believe voters deserve more than promises—they deserve proof,” said Pina. “That’s why I’m publicly committing to run a campaign that respects both the law and the people’s money.

Full Compliance With Contribution Laws

Stephen Pina’s campaign will follow Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 55, which governs campaign contributions and political finance. Under state law:

Filing & Transparency

The campaign will file:

No Straw Donors. No Loopholes.

Pina also pledged a zero-tolerance stance toward unethical funding tactics such as “straw donor” schemes (donating under someone else’s name), bundling, or using third-party shell PACs.

“This campaign won’t cut corners. If someone tries to buy influence—don’t bother,” said Pina. “Our loyalty is to the parents, teachers, and taxpayers of Brockton—not to special interests.”

Public Review Encouraged

All campaign finance reports and spending activity will be accessible to the public via the Office of Campaign and Political Finance Public Database. Constituents are encouraged to verify reports at any time and hold the campaign accountable.

Integrity at Every Step

“This isn’t just a campaign—it’s a mission to clean up what’s broken,” Pina stated. “I’m not just running for School Committee. I’m setting a new standard for how campaigns in Brockton should be run: clean, honest, and with complete respect for the law and the people.”
