On Tuesday, September 16th, Brockton voters delivered a message loud and clear: change is coming to our schools.
The Vote Pina Committee is proud to announce that Stephen Pina has advanced from the September 16th Preliminary Election for Ward 1 School Committee.
The Committee thanks Brockton Community Access for broadcasting the results live and providing coverage that allowed residents across the city to share in this important moment for Brockton.
Stephen expressed his gratitude to his opponents, Jorge Vega and Stephen O’Malley, for their dedication and conduct throughout the race.
“Both gentlemen ran well-fought preliminary campaigns and were nothing but class,” Pina said. “I’m proud to have gotten to know them, and I’m grateful for the spirit of civility and commitment they brought to this process.”
With the preliminary victory secured, the campaign is now looking ahead.
“Tonight’s result is not the finish line. We are on to November,” Pina said. “That means building a bigger team of volunteers and supporters, ramping up fundraising, hosting another event, and doubling down on the ground game.”
The campaign emphasized that the momentum from the preliminary will fuel the next phase of the fight for accountability and strong schools.
“I could not be more excited about the journey ahead,” Pina added. “This campaign is about accountability, strong schools, and building a stronger Brockton — and we’ve only just begun. Let’s roll!”
