From Opponents to Allies: Third-Place Finisher Stephen O’Malley Endorses Stephen Pina for Ward 1 School Committee
Brockton, MA – In a powerful statement of unity and purpose, Stephen O’Malley, a lifelong Brockton resident and the third-place finisher in last Tuesday’s Ward 1 School Committee preliminary, has officially endorsed Stephen Pina for the general election.
“Though we were once electoral opponents, Stephen O’Malley and I share deep roots in Brockton — and more importantly, a deep concern for our schools and our children,” said Pina. “His decision to join this effort speaks volumes about his commitment to Ward 1 families and to the promise of real change.”
O’Malley’s endorsement brings not just name recognition, but experience in public service and community safety. Having served in law enforcement and lived in Ward One, he knows firsthand the challenges families face. His voice will be instrumental as the campaign pivots from primary season to the general election.
As part of this unified front, Pina has pledged to hold quarterly Town Hall meetings at West Middle School or Hancock Elementary, beginning on day one. These sessions will provide residents direct access to their representative, ensuring transparency and accountability.
“I look forward to working closely with O’Malley over the next month,” Pina added. “Ward 1 voters deserve to know we are accountable — not just in words, but in action. Together, we will build bridges, restore trust, and make sure every voice in this Ward is heard.”
